Late TUSAL and IHSW
Life's been a bit crazy lately so excuse the fact I'm nearly a week late for both of these. Plus it doesn't help I had to figure out where everything was in the new Blogger. It also doesn't help that photobucket has a new photo editor that's just as confusing.
This is the start of the kalediscope for my youngest neice. This is the part that wraps around the main part and it will have her name on it.
and my TUSAL jar with some rainbow colors in there due to the kalediscope.
I have a baby blanket I've started crochetting for my SiL who's expecting as well, but I don't have a very good picture of that one. I'll probably get a better one about the time the WIPockalypse come around.

WIPockalypse check in
Yes, I'm late, but I've got good news as to why:
1. My dad managed to rescue my files for me
and
2. I found out yesterday that I'm pregnant. So there's a future stitcher/belly dancer coming along in 9 months.
So for the WIPockalypse check in!
First up is Oak Island Mystery. Not much has gotten done on this, but I just recently picked it up as I finished "Zombies". I hope my nephew enjoys this.
Have a row finished in Royalty and am working on a second row. I'm one of those people who has to work from either the center or the bottom right corner 'cause of the way I stitch.
Not a great picture, but it's going to be a kaleidascope for my littlest neice with her name on it. I'm hoping she enjoys it.

Technical difficulties
So was gonna do a WIPocalypse post this weekend only for my computer to stop acknowledging my external harddrive.
Which has everything on it because I thought it'd be safe there after having to reformat my actual harddrive twice due to viruses.
So, I don't have any pictures for updates. I'll probably be late in getting any pictures up because I gotta get my external harddrive talking to my computer again without formatting said harddrive.

*blushes* A surprise award
Charbella nominated me for the Liebster Award.
Some background: Liebster is a German word, meaning favourite, dearest or beloved and the Liebster is awarded by bloggers to other, newer bloggers, who have fewer than 200 followers, to spread the word and help the new(er)bies gain wider recognition. The award comes with four conditions that each recipient must satisfy when accepting:
Choose five up-and-coming blogs (with fewer than 200 followers) to award the Liebster to.
Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
Post the award on your blog. List the bloggers you are giving the award to with links to their sites. Leave comments on their blogs so they know about the award.
Share 5 random facts about yourself that people don't know about you.
So the five I nominate are:
1.The Mirabilia Stitcher because it is so much fun to see her beautiful creations as they appear.
2. Buttons 'n Bows for two reasons: 1. She's a blogging newcomer, and 2. The pictures of her quilting blocks are gorgeous.
3. Stitching Daze because Tama always seems to find the most interesting things to stitch.
4. Gatchastitch 'cause she has the coolest geek patterns ever!
5. Sense and Stitchability because of the lovely journeys she takes through her patterns, posting the WIP pictures as she goes.
As for five facts:
1. I met my husband LARP-ing, when I played an NPC who was 'sold' to him as a potential wife.
2. I took ballet lessons when I was little because I wanted to dance with Mikhail Baryshnikov (that unfortunately didn't happen).
3. I'm really bad at sticking with one project until it's finished (but I'm getting better).
4. I love thunderstorms and falling snow, as long as I don't have to be out in it. Especially driving in it.
5. I get all these grand ideas of what to do for presents or gifts, but most of the time they don't work out due to either time or money constraints.

An announcement!
*trumpets blow* *pretty girls and boys dance down the street, throwing flower petals weverywhere*
I am delighted to announce that after two false starts and a complete redo, Beware of Zombies is....
FINISHED!!!
a bit of detail at the top.
I tried to fill the black bits in with white (save for the center around the letters) and the white completely faded into the gray thread. I offered my friend two choices: consider this finished as is, or I'd redo it with a darker gray and add the white in. She decided she liked it as is.
So next up, I'm going to work on something for me as well as something for my nephew. For me, it's going to be Royalty from HAED, and for my nephew, The Oak Island Mystery which I'm hoping he'll get a kick out of.

An update on various things
*shakes head* Get a bit busy with everything and then lose track of time. Wish I could say something differently, but yeah, that's why I haven't updated in over a week.
But the good news is I'm almost finished with "Beware of Zombies"
See? I just need the "B" left to do. *grins* Okay, there's a bit more gray at the top of the "frame" to do as well as the white will fill in everything but around the letters.
But the really amazing thing is the redbuds and dogwood outside my window!
They've exploded into blooms!
The redbuds.
The dogwoods.
As for belly dancing, the begining classes have been wonderful. We just started veil work a week back, and it's been interesting to do. Of course, one thing that doesn't help is that the room gets rather hot when we're dancing and I don't think there's enough fans in the world to cool it down. In the advanced class, it seems like all of April is booked for dancing. There's Mizelli's studen recital this Saturday, Wright State's International Festival on April 21, and then the Miami Music Performance or something like that on April 28. So yeah, it's going to be a busy month.
